About

The first 200 m go through the woods and then on to a lot of bare rock. Great views of Hardangerfjord from along the rim of Langedalen and at the top of Dumben. Pass by the mountain cabin at Dumben and into an undulating terrain to beyond Storafjell. From here the trail down is a bit rugged until it meets a connecting path. Here you will find the hiking signs marking the routes for Grønrimb and Gausvik. You continue towards Grønrimb and shortly after you will arrive at the mountain cabins there. You can choose to move on to tours 31, 32, 33 or 35. All these hikes are described on the information board at the main road. There is also an unmarked path going eastward which connects with tour 30.

Season: May – October/November.

Tips from locals

Bring food, drinking water and windproof clothing. We advise you to use hiking boots. If it’s been dry for a while you could use trainers/sneakers. We recommend that you bring a map of the area and a compass, or a GPS. Cell phone signals are NOT GOOD during the whole of this hike. Dogs must be kept (by law) on a leash at all times between April 1 and August 20. Open fire is prohibited in the hills and woods between April 15 and September 15. You are free to walk anywhere in the hills and mountains. Take care of the nature and show special consideration to all wildlife. Please do not litter.

Arrival

Follow road 107, going south from Jondal centre. After about 5.5 km take the first road leaving to the right at the roundabout. After another 11.9 km you come to Hammaren. The information board and hiking signs marking the route to Grønrimb are on the left hand side of the road. If arriving by car, park by the hiking sign. Parking at own risk.
