The mountains have been formed over time by the ice ages, giving them a their distinct steep shape. Between the fresh air, and the panoramic views of the fjord landscape, life is always good in the mountains. Please note that weather can change quickly in mountain environments, and time there should be planned accordingly. We want to see your smiling face in the village at the end of your day, so be careful, and please leave no trace.

Activities

An essential part of the fjord experience is to explore the mountains - especially those trails where you can see all the way down to the water. Along the Glacier Road, there are a range of hikes suiting everyone from beginners to experts. The length and difficulty are up to you, but please plan your day with safety first. Respect for nature and weather is foundational for all activities in the mountains. Please help us to keep the mountains clean and quiet! From November to May this is a perfect place for backcountry skiing, but please check avalanche risk when planning your tours!
