About

The hike, which is mainly in dry terrain, takes you into the Gullbergnotten nature reserve. The first half of the hike goes through the woods on a steep and sometimes demanding track. Assisting steps have been made in two places. After a while the track flattens out and the woods open up. The path continues through pine forest, heather and bare rock up to Gullbergnotten. Superb view of the village of Jondal and the fjord. You can choose to continue on tour "Gullbergnotten-Selsvik".

Season: May – October/November.

Tips from locals

Bring food, drinking water and windproof clothing. We advise you to use hiking boots or lighter walking shoes. We recommend that you bring a map of the area and a compass, or a GPS. Good cell phone signals covering the whole hike. Dogs must be kept (by law) on a leash at all times between April 1 and August 20. Open fire is prohibited in the Gullbergnotten nature reserve. You are free to walk anywhere in the hills and mountains. Take care of the nature and show special consideration to all wildlife. Please do not litter.

Arrival

Take road 550 to the north from Jondal centre. After 1.4 km you arrive at a short tunnel (pedestrians are allowed to pass through this tunnel). Pineskår is immediately after the tunnel. There is parking space on the left hand (sea-side) of the road. Please do not obstruct the gates for the waste disposal plant. On the opposite side of the road you can find the information board and the hiking sign, marking the route to Gullbergnotten. Parking at own risk.
