Poestien («Poem Path») is a 6.1 km round trip, taking you on road and farm roads around the village of Øvre Krossdalen. Being a round trip, you can choose the starting point and direction yourself. The information board showing details for hiking tours 11 – 19 is at the crossroad to Folgefonna. There is a guest book in a box at the Kvåle school building. You will find mounted poems at all the resting places along the route. The trip is suitable for baby wheelers etc. A short part of the route is on a farm road, but otherwise the trip is on firm ground.
Season: The poestien hike is possible throughout the year, although during the winter there are parts which are not cleared for snow
You can use light walking shoes or trainers (it might be a bit wet on just a part of the farm road). Bring drinking water. Please remember to close any gates you have opened. Map, compass and GPS are unnecessary. See the tour guide at the information board at the crossroad to Folgefonna. Good cell phone signals covering the whole hike. Dogs must be kept (by law) on a leash at all times between April 1 and August 20. Open fire is prohibited in the hills and woods between April 15 and September 15. You are free to walk anywhere in the hills and mountains. Take care of the nature and show special consideration to all wildlife. Please do not litter.
Take road 105 from Jondal towards Folgefonna. After 8.0 km there is a road junction to the right. There is an information board on the right hand side describing the tours 11 to 19. You can start here, or continue (crossing a bridge) ca. 0.9 km to an old school building at Kvåle. Parking at own risk.
